Why we exist

Most of what the world hears about autism comes from people who aren’t autistic. Unmute was founded in 2019 to change who gets the microphone.

Every piece we publish is shaped with the person telling it. They approve the edit, choose the title and decide what stays out. We offer captions, transcripts, and written or typed interviews so anyone can take part in the way that suits them.
